Description

ADK Naturalist Cold-Pressed Neem Oil 100ml is a pure, unrefined neem oil formulated for skin and hair care. Extracted from premium neem seeds using cold-press technology that preserves the full spectrum of bioactive compounds, it is one of the richest natural sources of antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and moisturising actives available in India. Suitable for scalp treatments, skin conditions, and as a carrier oil base for aromatherapy blends.

Key Skin and Hair Benefits

Unlike water-soluble agricultural neem oil, Naturalist cold-pressed neem oil retains its complete fatty acid profile — including oleic acid (50–60%), linoleic acid (10–15%), stearic acid, and palmitic acid — as well as vitamin E and the full range of limonoid compounds including nimbin, nimbidin, and azadirachtin. These compounds work together to deliver:

  • Antifungal action: Nimbin and nimbidin directly inhibit the growth of Malassezia, the fungus responsible for most dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and scalp itching.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Nimbidin reduces scalp redness, swelling, and irritation associated with dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis flare-ups.
  • Deep moisturisation: Oleic and linoleic acids penetrate the skin barrier to hydrate the scalp and hair shaft from within, reducing dry flaking and hair breakage.
  • Antimicrobial protection: Neem actives inhibit a broad range of bacteria that cause scalp infections, folliculitis, and body acne.
  • Lice and mite treatment: Azadirachtin disrupts the reproductive cycle of head lice and scalp mites without the toxic side effects of chemical lice treatments.

Azadirachtin and PPM in Personal Care Neem Oil

Azadirachtin content in cold-pressed neem oil typically ranges from 300–2000 PPM depending on seed quality and extraction method. For skin and hair applications, the broader fatty acid and limonoid profile is equally important — it is the synergy of all compounds in cold-pressed neem oil that delivers personal care benefits, not azadirachtin alone. This is why cold-pressed neem oil is preferred for personal care while water-soluble neem oil is optimised for agricultural pest control. How to Use Naturalist Neem Oil for Hair and Scalp

Always dilute before applying to skin or scalp. Undiluted neem oil is too concentrated for direct topical use.

  • Anti-dandruff scalp treatment: Mix 8–10 drops of Naturalist neem oil with 2 tablespoons of warm coconut or sesame oil. Massage into the scalp, leave for 30–60 minutes (or overnight), then shampoo out. Repeat 2–3 times per week for 4–6 weeks.
  • Neem oil hair mask: Add 10 drops to your regular hair mask or deep conditioner. Apply to lengths and ends, leave for 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly.
  • Scalp spray: Dissolve 5 drops in 100ml distilled water with 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel. Spray onto the scalp between washes for ongoing antifungal maintenance.
  • Skin spot treatment: Dilute 3–5 drops in 1 teaspoon of a neutral carrier oil (jojoba or almond). Apply to affected skin areas using a cotton bud. Leave overnight.
  • Body acne: Add 5 drops to your regular body wash or dilute in coconut oil and apply to affected areas before showering.

Precautions

  • Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying. Never apply undiluted neem oil directly to skin or scalp.
  • Perform a patch test on the inner wrist before first use. Leave for 30 minutes and check for any reaction.
  • Neem oil has a strong, characteristic smell — mixing with coconut oil and a drop of lavender or rosemary essential oil improves the experience.
  • Store in a cool, dark location. Cold-pressed neem oil may solidify below 18°C — this is normal. Warm in a bowl of lukewarm water before use.
  • Keep away from eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with cold water.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy without medical advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a 100ml bottle last?
At 8–10 drops per scalp treatment (approximately 0.4–0.5 ml), a 100ml bottle provides 200+ scalp treatments — roughly 8–10 months of twice-weekly use. For hair and skin, this is the best-value size.

Can Naturalist neem oil be used on the face?
Yes, when diluted. Use a maximum of 1–2 drops per teaspoon of carrier oil for facial application. Suitable for oily, acne-prone, and dry skin types. Do not apply near the eye area.

Is this the same product used for plants?
No. Naturalist cold-pressed neem oil is formulated for personal care and should not be confused with Nimboli water-soluble agricultural neem oil. For plant use, please see our Nimboli plant range.

Will neem oil darken my skin?
No. Neem oil does not contain melanin-stimulating compounds and will not darken skin. Some users notice temporary tinting on very light or grey hair if the oil is not fully shampooed out — thorough washing prevents this.
